Go Ahead, Sen. Inhofe; Make Our Day!

United States Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina has it right.  No more earmarks or funding of pork-barrel projects.  If Senator Lindsey Graham also of South Carolina does not tow that same line, he will be out of a job the next time he is up for reelection.  Some senators like Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma defended some silly earmarks on Fox News today.  Any senator of representative (Republican, Democrat, or Independent) who support funding of any earmark will become targets at the next time they are up for election.  Period!

I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, some 4-1/2 decades ago.  Oklahoma does not need those silly earmark projects that Jim Inhofe was pushing.  I do not care how conservative he may be.  If he desires to spend earmark money, he will be out of a job the next time he comes up for reelection.  Go ahead; make our day, Senator Inhofe.  Defy the desires of “We the People,” and kiss your job goodbye. After all, you have been in Washington, DC, 23 years too long already.  We need fresh conservative blood in there–someone like J.C. Watts, for example.  Our advice to you is to get off the earmark kick.

If there is any “good” earmark that should get funded, then the cost should automatically be deleted from the Obamacare budget.  That will indicate whether the proponent feels how important his earmarks are relative to healthcare and to the overall national budget.  Zero-based budgeting should be the name of the game for all expenditures from this day going forward.  We must identify the spendthrifts in Congress and vote them out of office.  We cannot and must not tolerate any elected official who adds to deficit spending and to increasing the national debt.

Getting these idiots in Congress to follow the will of the people is like pushing on a string.  They do not seem to get it through their thick skulls that our nation is broke.  All they care about is making money and increasing their personal power. Well, they had better look for other ways to achieve those two ends than through earmarks and funding pork-barrel projects.  To get the national debt to level off and then head downward, there absolutely must not be any deficit spending whatsoever.  The government must live on zero-based budgeting.  In other words, if you want to receive money to fund a pet project, then you must take that amount of money away from your other “must have” projects.  Simple.  It is called robbing Peter to pay Paul.  That is zero-based budgeting.

If we do not have the funds, we do without whatever we want.  If we do not follow that rule, we get ourselves into debt. Further, if we do not eliminate our debt, we eventually end in bankruptcy.  For the sake of national defense and national security, we must not spend ourselves into oblivion and put ourselves at the mercy of our creditors.  That is the military strategy of China—our largest creditor.  One day soon, China will call in her chips.  Then, we, the United States, will be in deep trouble national security wise.  Therefore, we must buck up and get rid of all those who have been responsible for our national debt that is quickly approaching $14 trillion.  Cease and desist!
