Parable of the Sheep and the Goats (Anonymous-Shaman Style)

Foreword
While religious elements play a role in this story, this story is mainly a secular parable, and thus perhaps more of an allegory.  A parable is a short story issued to illustrate a moral or principle.  An allegory is a story designed to illustrate a moral or political point.  By some, the following story could also be considered a parody of relatively recent political and economical events, how we got here, and where we are heading.  It is a horror story, without all the gory details.  It is a tragedy, with two possible endings (as the future is not set in stone).  It is about the age-old battle between the gracious good, the evil eilte, and the ignorant idiots of our society.  In the end, good does not win, evil does not win, and the idiots certainly do not win.  There is one constant in the universe; it is free will.  The characters of this story are given a choice about their future.  They can choose good or evil.

The Sheep and the Goats vs. the Wolves and Cougars

Twenty thousand sheep live in an ecosystem, with 20 wolves.  They get sick and tired of being eaten by the wolves.  So, they form a collective with the goats in the land and organize a congress to address the issue.  They decide to fight the wolves, instead of running away (‘cause frankly they don’t want to move from the luscious green pasture).  Long story shortened, the sheep win and the wolves go away.

The wolves are beaten back, for the time being, but they form a secret alliance with the cougars in the nearby land.

Many years pass and the sheep live in relative peace.  However, unbeknownst to the sheep, cougars and wolves have been making plan to re-enter and take over the land.  The cougars and wolves put on sheep’s clothing.  Then, they infiltrated the flock.

The cougars and wolves in sheep’s clothing began to vie for power in political rings.  Eventually they succeed to get enough seats in congress to actually make a difference.  They secretly started subversive activities to bring down the sheep’s empire.  Meanwhile, they had to eat, so, they would secretly abduct a sheep here and a sheep there to keep their bellies full.

Eventually, the cougars and the wolves, who were greatly outnumbered by the sheep, gain control over all politics.  They set up a two-party system comprising the sheep party and the goat party.  That division of the sheep from the goats was established in order to give a semblance of “choice”, all the while maintaining their secret agenda.

Furthermore, the cougars and wolves passed laws that allow the introduction of artificial chemicals into the sheep’s diet that will make them fatter and fatter, less able to fight, and more delectable to the taste.  The irony is that the cougars and wolves told the sheep that the chemicals in their food were actually healthy and will definitely NOT make them fat (which of course was a total lie).

Then the cougars and wolves introduce fluoride into the sheep’s watering holes, because it made the bones brittle and made for easy consumption of the sheep.  However, the sheep were told that it would make their teeth strong for easy grazing (which again was a total lie).

As time passed, there were more and more sheep to be fed.  So, the cougars and wolves invented genetically modified crops, which were full of pesticides in the DNA, to make the crops more resistant to pests.

As time passed, the cougars and wolves got fatter and fatter, secretly feeding upon the sheep whom they pretended to serve.  The cougars and wolves spoke with grandiloquent rhetoric to fool the unsuspecting sheep.  However, in time, some of the sheep began to “wake up” to the treachery and tried to warn the other sheep.  Low profile whistle-blowers were secretly slaughtered and eaten.  High-profile whistle-blowers were ridiculed and/or had their reputations tarnished by scandals orchestrated by the cougars and wolves.

The masses of sheep refused to believe that their empire could have been infiltrated.  They still believed that the mess that they were in could be fixed.  Yes, they knew that something was wrong.  The sheep were getting fatter and fatter, lazier and lazier, more and more complacent, and in some cases more and more dependent upon the system.  What the cougars and wolves didn’t know that by poisoning the sheep and goats, they were also poisoning themselves.

As things progressed, the sheep were getting sicker and sicker.  The medical system had to be revamped to euthanize the too-sick-to-eat sheep and keep the rest happy by treating the symptoms (rather than the cause, which was the poisons and pesticides that they had introduced into the foods and water).

The social (medical) reforms were more expensive than anticipated, so the cougars and wolves had to borrow more and more money.  The debt got to the point that it could never in a million life-times ever be paid back.  The economy began to “tank”.  Unemployment hit record highs and the social welfare system was “taxed” to the point that the cougars and wolves had to raise taxes (while saying they wouldn’t raise taxes) and borrow more money (while saying they wouldn’t increase the debt).  Soon, just about everything that came out of the mouths of the cougars and wolves was nothing but lies dressed up in fancy, eloquent speech.

The greed of the cougars and wolves knew no bounds.  They grew tired of sheep and goat meat.  They wanted beef and pork as well.  So, they planned and schemed to take over all herbivores on the planet.  In order to accomplish this goal, the cougars and wolves had to keep the sheep in a state of fear, all the while posing as their protectors.  They orchestrated an open and brazen attack upon the sheep, then blamed it upon jackals that lived on a completely different continent.  The sheep were very gullible and they fell for it hook, line and sinker.  This artificial terrorism allowed the cougars and wolves to implement more governmental controls, which left the sheep bereft of their freedoms, guaranteed by their constitution.

The sheep and goats’ police systems are bought off and/or threatened to the point that they enforced openly and without reservation any law that the cougars and wolves made, despite the fact that some of those laws went against the constitution that the sheep had set up in the beginning.

For a while, it looked like the cougars and wolves were going to get their one-world government, and be able to satiate their ever-increasing appetites.  However, there was something that the cougars and wolves were too idiotic to figure out; the stupid and willfully ignorant sheep were dying off, and/or were unable to reproduce due the poisons in the food.  At the same time the smart and informed sheep were increasingly reproducing.  In time, the number of “awake” sheep reached a “tipping point” when the cougars/wolves’ plan began to backfire.  The sheep began to expose the cougars and wolves for who they were and what they were doing.  Even the willfully ignorant could no longer deny what was going on.  The sheep, who out-numbered the cougars and wolves 1000 to 1, began to take action.  Some sheep moved away to different pastures.  Others stayed to take back their sovereignty.

It wasn’t a nice time to be living in that pasture.  30 percent of the adult sheep were unemployed.  Many became dependent upon the system for their survival.  Taxes increased for the wealthy sheep, but somehow the cougars and wolves built-in loop-holes to the tax laws so that they could get richer without the higher taxes.  While many sheep were starving the cougars and wolves increased their own salaries.  What the wolves did not know was that the cougars had made secret pacts with their relatives the lions and tigers overseas in order to dominate the whole herbivore world.  The wolves (and other canines, such as the jackals) were merely being used as minions for the true elite (the big cats).

Somehow, some of the wolves became aware that their alliance with the cougars was not exactly as they had hoped it would be; but they were kept fat and therefore complacent.  There was really nothing that the canines could do, for the felines had taken over and ruled the planet behind closed doors.

One day, father sun shot an electro-magnetic pulse at mother earth which destroyed all electrics on the planet.  Every animal panicked.  Chaos ensued.  The felines lost control and went into their secret dens that they had prepared in the mountains stocked with a twenty-year supply of meat and medical supplies.  The herbivores were despondent at the disappearance of their leaders.

It was in the midst of this chaos that dragons descended from the skies.  The dragons told the herbivores that they had come to help, but only if help was requested from them, for it was against their laws to help anyone who didn’t want to be helped.  With the dragons came many of the GREAT ancient herbivores of the planet Earth.  There was Krish the bovine, Sid the elephant, Josh the lamb, Er the water buffalo, and many others, whom history has not recorded.  They came to say, “Please listen to these dragons.  They are benevolent beings from a higher dimension, come here to help.  The carnivores of your planet have deceived you and now are hiding in their dens.”

Many of the Earthling herbivores were skeptical, because their ancient teachings had been perverted by the carnivores to keep them in a state of ignorance, thus keep them controlled!!!!

Just then, serpents from under the Earth came out and declared the dragons to be imposters!  The serpents claimed to be the TRUE gods of the planet Earth.  They produced clones of Krish the bovine, Sid the Elephant, Josh the lamb, and Er the water buffalo (and many others).  Those clones pleaded with the Earthling-herbivores to follow the serpents into the safety of the Earth.  Furthermore, the serpents made many demonstrations of their power that seemed miraculous.  The herbivores of Earth were confused.  They didn’t know what to say or do.  There was discussion that led to division.  Some wanted to follow the dragons.  Some wanted to follow the serpents.  In the end, free will was given to the Earthling-herbivores to chose their own fate.  Some followed the dragons to a new land of ethereal peace, love, and joy.  Some followed the serpents down and were never heard from again.  Nobody knows what happened to them.
