Birdi & Associates, a technology consulting firm with contracts at Los Angeles’ airport and harbor facilities, gave $19,000 to Garcetti’s committee. Businessman Elon Musk, who wants to build transportation tunnels underneath the city, gave $2,500, filings show.
This is how crony capitalism is done. Scratch the politician’s back, get an audience (and money) when the politician is elected.
