In the news it really isn’t surprising that the media keeps focused on how great our economy is doing. Even the President keeps spouting how he and he alone is the great incubator of such a fabulous economy. To much of their chagrin the US economy is any thing but great. Either they are too blind to see, are to occupied with Presidential impeachment proceedings or Iran to really take a good hard look at what is actually occurring on main street. Then again our public servants really public servants at all. They are public recipients of tax payers dollars. Their wallets get fatter every year while the rest of us are left stretching every last penny we can get.
 
From every city, every town, and every suburb there remains millions of US citizens desperately trying to cope with enormous financial hardships that have plagued them for years. With our so called great economy there is an epidemic of homelessness that is sweeping all across this nation. Every year since Trump took office homelessness has only dramatically increased. Other aspects of how great and fabulous our economy is the fact that 1 in 4 children still face acute starvation. Millions of Americans again still can’t afford health insurance. Millions more have to work 2 or 3 jobs per day just to put a roof over their heads. Let alone afford food, insurance and so many other necessities of living here in the United States. 
 
Today, the cost of living continues to rise and not just yearly either. It really isn’t amazing how apathetic and oblivious so many of our politicians are. Especially with the Republican mindset that is prevailing today. Even some Democrats are too caught up in their own delusion of maintaining that all is well and good. The fact of the matter is that too many in positions that could affect the changes needed to bring balance back into America’s economy can’t see the forest through the trees, as the saying goes. It could very well be all that with all that campaign cash only swells their coffers blinds them to see the truth.
 
When you actually see for your very own eyes the faces of the down trodden masses, their weathered faces, tattered clothes and many without proper shoes reminds one of the pictures of so many Americans during the Great Depression.  On the street corners, by doorways to stores, or the tent cities as they are called now their plight continues to fall on deaf ears. All of these and so many more afflictions that are imbedded in our society today makes you wonder what the hell is actually happening to America the beautiful to turn into America the ugly.
 
The problems that America faces are immense. Yet, every Administration from the past 40 years continues to waste billions of dollars on fruitless endeavors in waging pointless wars, that have only benefited the power elite. We have meddled in affairs of other nations that we have really no business doing. And, every Administration have used this excuse of National Security as their justification for doing so. Well guess what! National security begins right here in the United States. Sure, we need trading partners but our actions from the past have only instigated more imbalance in our economy which is one reason why the cost of living keeps rising, put more people out of work, lowered wages for those who are still working and in short made life in the US almost to expensive to live let alone to survive. We have yet to achieve that balance all we have done through years of diplomacy and war is isolate and antagonize countries that would help create that balance of trade we so desperately need. This to keep the cost of living on an equal plain to wages right here in the United States. Maybe in this way America the ugly can once again become America the beautiful.
