The Evolution Of Man's Dark Side

Ever since Cain and Able mankind has continued violent aggressive acts against one another. We have yet to find a cure that would enable man to resist not only the temptation to commit a violent act but to alleviate violent acts all together. Whether these acts are committed against man or nature have made humanities existence a perilous undertaking. Today, too many wildfires are caused by man’s violent acts upon nature. The massive pollution we see in our lakes, rivers, and oceans are all caused by man’s indifference and violent acts against nature’s delicate balance. It is not surprising though that man continues to commit violent acts against one another. We see and hear about it everyday. And, yet the violence only continues.

We have to go back to Biblical times to trace the real root of how the evolution of man’s dark side took hold of mankind. This is where Adam and Eve succumbed to the temptations of the forbidden fruit. Ever since man has developed the urges of selfishness, greed, lust and hate. Mankind was and still is endowed with attributes of goodness and virtue. An empathy toward all living things. When the forbidden fruit was eaten all humanity has been tempted and so many have succumbed to the dark side personality trait.

Too much of the world’s problems stem from the very beginning. When we have heard so often when tempers flare, can’t we all get along. Simple enough, right! Not so! All through-out history where there has been light there has been darkness. In every human being since Adam and Eve there is goodness and then there are dark desires. Desires that if allowed to overwhelm the personality of ones self too often selfishness, greed, lust, and hate rise to the surface and drown out the traits of goodness and virtue. The elusiveness of relinquishing the dark side of humanity has been troubling mankind for centuries.

The leaders that are in power today many have displayed temperament’s where the dark personality trait has overwhelmed their conscious effort to mitigate acts of selfish desires. Those selfish desires have placed the world at the apex of global conflict. Now, the question is: can mankind through conscious effort be not tempted to allow the dark side of one’s self to rule their actions? As thought provoking as that can be we actually can. And, yet the world continues to revolve around the dark side of too many who wield the reigns of power.

Some may not be fully aware of how their actions affect others. A subconscious spontaneous act of aggression, a spur of the moment thought overtakes one’s action has existed in the minds of man ever since Cain and Able. All through-out history those kinds of aggressive actions have caused too much of mankind’s suffering and misery.

Today, the world is faced with turbulent times. All attributed to the dark side that has taken hold of man’s actions. Where there was goodness and virtue there has always been devilish intentions that have and still lurk in the minds of man. Man will always have conscious desires. But, it is within our abilities to be able to control the overwhelming temptation to succumb to the dark side of our consciousness that will enable mankind to finally reach a point where violent aggressive acts against one another and nature will finally come to an end.

It is through education and the environment that we are born into that dictates how one progress in life. The imbalances in the world today have only continued to shutter so many out of the education and environment that would enable ones self to have the temperament to be able to control ones actions in curtailing selfish desires that harm others and nature. And, until we of the world community correct the existing imbalances of societies the world will still be faced with a very insecure future and acts of man’s dark side will only prevail.
