Duty, Honor, Country

In the 20th century is when the United States had great political and military leaders whose exploits wrote the pages of history. But in the last half of that century an erosion of political expediency took hold of the nation that had long since became the standard bearer for upholding freedom and moral obligation to mankind. As a consequence, the great leaders that fought and led America to victories in both World Wars as General of the Army Douglas MacArthur put it “Old soldiers never die they just fade away” leaving a great void in duty, honor, country for people now serving the public’s trust.

The nation has since morphed into an almost unrecognizable essence of its former self. The winds of change from ever increasing methods of destruction, profiteering of major corporations, a deterioration of educational standards, and the political system seeping with corruption have all created the internal crisis that has prohibited the United States from solving the enormous economic catastrophe that is engulfing America today.

There are those today who recognize that the US lacks the caliber of leadership needed to not only unify a nation but to heal the moral and economic woes that face multitudes in the United States and beyond. It is as though for the past 60 years the United States has surrendered its Duty, Honor, Country attributes and have forsaken the American Public. 

Since 1963 the United States has lost many of the ideals of our Founding Fathers that Americans had always expected from our military leaders, members of Congress, and our President. Today the results are profound. The staggering cost of the inefficiency to propel the United States into a more secure, prosperous and healthy nation can be explained by the audacity of so many public officials through the years as they continue to profit off of the public’s welfare.

Today, when over 60% of US citizens live at or below the poverty line, when health care is nonexistent for millions, when the US dollar has now become a target to be eliminated as the worlds reserve currency, the inflationary trends we are facing and the wealth disparity gap has only got wider all could have been negated had we had the leadership whose qualities exemplified Duty, Honor, Country.
