A Rude Awakening

Someone once said, “We would all be better off if we ate our vegetables instead of electing them.” With the current state of affairs in the US today this statement sums up our legislative and government officials’ mental capacity from all of the past 50 years. The constant obstruction of legislation that would ease the suffering of millions and the decline of all the other factors that used to make up America’s greatness have all succumbed to a political and social culture void of the characteristics of our society that prevailed 60 years ago.

Sure, times have changed but that does not mean we have to endure the lack of decorum, etiquette, ethics, common sense, and empathy from practically every member of congress. Which by the way has been dictated by a doctrine of intolerance, partisan politics and a complete lack of moral fortitude to do what is right and just for all Americans.

The current state of our democracy has not created or produced even the expectations nor the results that would produce balance, stability, security and prosperity for the American public. Instead, what we here today is a nation ripe with internal strife, violence, civil disobedience, and poverty. As bad as things are the prognosis for our futures with the current trends in government still in place the United States will sink like the Titanic.

The ever-elusive catalyst that would bind this nation together remains obscure by fanatics that actively promote more divisiveness. And as long as there continues to be people being influenced by a doctrine of hate, intolerance and an unwillingness to compromise there will be no respite. We have a government that for too long has maintained a pattern of partisan politics where compromise is never in the equation. When we have elected officials that are bought and paid for by corporate donors eliminates any chance of a government of the people and by the people. These are all part of the problems that continues to drive the United States into the ground.

We have to ask ourselves in the midst of all this chaos how we ended up to where gun violence is an everyday occurrence, where our rights and freedoms are stripped away, where over 70% of our population has succumbed to a level of poverty not seen since the Great Depression in a nation that promotes itself as the wealthiest in the world, where more of our citizens especially children can’t meet set educational standards, and where our infrastructure has deteriorated to the point that it not only poses a national health but safety crisis in our nation. These and more have been completely ignored or deemed not feasible to remedy by a bunch of self-serving bureaucrats.

Now the question is this: can the United States regain our prominence where the fulfilment of the Williams Theory of Economic Evolution is attainable for that 70% who face a very unsecure future? To answer that we have to decide what kind of a nation do we really want? There are ways to end the horrific gun violence, end homelessness, secure our nation’s infrastructure, provide adequate fresh water to all regions in the US, and provide the means for the majority of Americans to actually prosper. This is where the majority of a population have enough disposable income to spend, save 10%, pay down debt, and invest. Having over 70 % of our citizens actually being able to achieve this will secure our nations stability and bring back balance into our society.

For too long we have let our government pursue a course of action that has proven detrimental to the welfare of the American citizen. The time is now to act and implement National Economic Reform’s Ten Articles of Unification before this nation really does go down like the Titanic.
