When we remember a time where the simple things in life actually were so memorable it is time to reflect on what has transpired in the human experience for the last 60 years. The moral decay is quite evident in terms of how society has removed the refinement that one associates with not only by the fashions but the decorum of civility that so many had those 60 years ago.

The culture of African Americans reflected a willingness to accept a resolve to maintain a certain heritage in contrast to the European immigrants that dominated the American landscape ever since the 17th century. In doing so they have managed to blend in and assimilate with other cultures without losing their own identity. Now what we are seeing is an almost complete collapse of civility and a deterioration of moral constraints within our society.

In the last 50 years we have had leaders who by virtue of their office seem to forget why they are there. They have set on a path that has forsaken the public in which they have sworn to serve. When we think back to the 1950′s and early 1960′s the racial divides were slowly coming together. The Civil Rights Movement eased much of the tensions. But thru the years the domestic and international policies coming out of Washington have systematically retarded any growth in closing not only the racial divides in the US but through-out the world.

The United States has to bear the responsibility for much of the rising tempests from its international as well as our domestic policies over the last 50 years. It has been these policies that have unleashed the tremors of unsustainability and instability of other nations that have caused the unthinkable to become more of a probability. The abomination of  armed conflict has propelled mankind toward that final confrontation. 

It was those 60 years ago that the US had elected officials who pursued a willingness to compromise and try to resolve the inner conflicts that always arise. Now some 60 years later what is taking place in the halls of Washington is a complete breakdown of cooperation between our dominate two party democratic system. A prime example now always seems to be if one party doesn’t get what they want they always threaten a government shutdown which translates to the public being held hostage by elected bureaucrats who care not for the public’s best interests.

With so much at stake in a world of hostile retaliations provoked by our continued support of nations involved instead of brokering a resolve to end hostilities has only added more divisiveness here in the US and through-out the world. We are seeing the direct results every time we turn on the news. And even then, we can’t be quite sure if what we are seeing is being downplayed to convince us that it is not that bad.

What has to be done isn’t even considered and what should be done to ease the harsh realities of our human experiences is too often pushed aside in favor of more lucrative offerings for our elected officials. When we have leaders who understand that by using our resources, energy, money, and technology toward resolving our differences and solving the environmental crisis that continues to ignite many of the international conflicts’ nations will finally be able to regain the balance in their society.  We will be able to ease the many internal crisis that has kept nations aggressively seeking armed conflicts to settle their internal and international crisis. And until we have leaders who understand this the world will still be a hot bed of hostile reactionary responses to any internal or external crisis.
