Citizens in the United States have enjoyed the lawful recognition of fundamental human rights for most of the American Republic’s history. In Paragould, Arkansas, those days just ended. Officials in the crime-riddled town have announced new law enforcement policies that many are describing as martial law.
The Paragould Daily Press is reporting that the mayor and local police plan to launch a new law enforcement strategy for 2013 that involves equipping all officers with SWAT body armor, instructing police to open carry AR-15 rifles everywhere, and requiring all citizens to submit to ID checks when walking in public. Citizens in Paragould will soon be living in conditions similar to those in Afghanistan if these policies are not reversed.

Anonymous……It is a city that is implementing martial law not a state. Also, comparing all the other “red” states to a city in Arkansas is just a lame attempt at trying to slam conservatives and the states in which they reside.
Don’t be fooled by the high crime rate nonsense, cities’ crime rates help to determine how much money the feds allocate to them annually. Cities have been known to inflate the crime rate to justify receiving more money which eventually find it’s way into personal pockets of city officials. There’s a lot of posturing going on to put fear in the people’s hearts so believe their threats when you see them actually played out in front of your own eyes.

The Municipal Police / County Sheriffs Departments should have been able to curb the crime without robbing all the lawful residents of their Constitutional Rights. I see what is going on in EVERY Municipality Nation Wide and World Wide. The Drug War should place more attention to those Law Enforcement Entities who along with select Local “ELITE” including many who are members of the Chambers of Commerce and Municipal Commissioners. I live in Paragould, Arkansas and I will be out seeing what is going on. I really don’t have a choice. I poor, due to disability, and don’t own a car so when I am physically capable I often walk to the store and it’s usually at night because it takes me most of the day to get moving, if even then. I have seen no one “in fear” due to the crime. I lived in Roswell, New Mexico and there was a hell of a lot more crime there than here. I don’t want to live in a police state, we are not being invaded (not openly) and don’t want to be harassed by cops if I’m headed to the store at 9 p.m., or anytime, just because I’m walking. This whole thing is idiotic. The criminals will not be out stealing televisions and computers on foot, most will be in cars. Yeah, it might stop a little crime, but it’s not worth it. On that note I’ve heard the Govenor of Arkansas has stepped in to stop this, but I’ve not had that confirmed. If it does happen, I will be on here letting folks know exactly what goes down with the cops because I will be out walking at midnight just to find out. God help us all.

PPD clears up “martial law” speculation
PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) – Paragould Police contacted Region 8 News to clear up speculation that they’d be imposing Martial Law on citizens in the new year.
PPD said the rumors started flying after they made known their plan to implement a Street Crimes Unit to deter crime.
“We are well aware of Supreme Court cases that tell us what we can and cannot do,” Corporal Brad Snyder with the Paragould Police Department told Region 8 News. “We won’t go out there and do things we can’t do.”
In an exclusive interview with Region 8 News, Snyder said their plan to lower crime rates has been blown out of proportion by misleading articles on several websites.
