Japan is interested in the Bitcoin
After the recent events in China a Bitcoin community sent a questioningly look in the direction of Japan. Because, inter alia, in the Land of the Rising Sun is Mt.Gox, the world’s largest Bitcoin-Exchange. And now came the first news from there and they sound promising.
As reported by «Jiji Press», The Bank of Japan is “very interested” in the Bitcoin. This was stated by Haruhiko Kuroda, the head of the Bank. Speaking at a regular news conference in Friday, Kuroda said that the central bank’s Institute of Monetary and Economic Studies is studying the Bitcoin.
“Compared with traditional ways of money transfers and existing electronic money, Bitcoin has both similar and different aspects,” Kuroda said.
He has added that the BOJ currently has no plans to take action on the situation surrounding Bitcoin.
