Google Knows Something About The Dollar - TDV Week in Review: September 21, 2014

Google is known as a massive technology company. Best known for its Search, Adwords, Adsense, Analytics, Google Books, Google News, YouTube, Google Voice, Google Maps and other products and services, something Google is not known for is financial advice, but that might be changing.
It seems Google knows what’s up…It seems to be giving its user a hint to divest from the US Dollar…
As you can see, the use-example for the word “currency” hints at something The Dollar Vigilante (TDV) has been writing about for some time now…that the dollar “was” a strong currency, but is no longer. Since Google technically licenses its definitions from Oxford, we can look across the pond for the source of this nuggest of insight. Many nations are catching onto the fact that the dollar “was” a strong currency, but is no longer. Brazil, China, India, France, Russia, and South Korea have all been vocal about the fate of the US Dollar.
“We [Europeans] are selling to ourselves in dollars, for instance when we sell planes,” French finance minister, Michel Sapin, told the Financial Times. “Is that necessary? I don’t think so. I think a rebalancing is possible and necessary, not just regarding the euro but also for the big currencies of the emerging countries, which account for more and more of global trade.”
The head of the Russian central bank has proposed solutions for the weakening dollar, working towards developing alternative trade mediums.
“We’ve done a lot of work on the ruble-yuan swap deal in order to facilitate trade financing. I have a meeting next week in Beijing…We are discussing with China and our BRICS partners the establishment of a system of multilateral swaps that will allow to transfer resources to one or another country, if needed. A part of the currency reserves can be directed to [the new system].”
As far as what the future holds for currencies, things are still up in the air, and Oxford/Google make this clear:
Nobody knows “if bitcoin is destined to succeed as the global currency.” But it seems Oxford/Google know many people are asking that question…

“Secessionist movements have gained in popularity in recent years as the global economic crisis persists and as people awaken to the fact they are owned by people often thousands of miles away. Making headlines most recently is a movement in Scotland seeking independence from London and the United Kingdom (UK). Whatever way Scots vote on Thursday, the seeds have been sown for a Scotland that will, in the future, become increasingly independent (at least mentally).”

MORE OMINOUS MOVES BY THE SELF-PROCLAIMED WORLD FIAT CURRENCY POLICE—AKA OECD

“Give this following first paragraph of the article just a moment of critical analysis—‘The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development has released its first set of recommendations for a coordinated international approach to combat tax avoidance by multinational enterprises, under the OECD/G20 Base Erosion and Profit Shifting Project.’
Man, where is Archie Bunker when you really need him? Even after a night out bowling with the boys he’d be able to see straight through these Red Commie Fags. First of all, it seems to imply that there’s actually something wrong with, as it says, “tax avoidance by multinational enterprises”. They seem to be adopting the posture of the proverbial knights in shining armor, rushing in to protect the world from evil capitalism.”

THE NFL’S PR NIGHTMARE A SYMPTOM OF A DECAYING US EMPIRE?
Jeff Berwick with a TDV take on the NFL’s woes.
“A PR disaster for the National Football League (NFL) has overshadowed the start of the 2014 football season in the United States. Player-after-player has been arrested for violent offenses. In fact, since Ray Rice was arrested in February, 33 players overall have been arrested for various offensive from domestic abuse to plant possession. When you stretch that timeline back further, an astonishing history of arrests by NFL players develops. Just look at this looong list.
The NFL is a microcosm of the US itself. A main incubator for militaristic thought, it seems the private not-for-profit organization is falling apart at the seams just like the US. While many players – who have suffered brutal hits throughout most of their lives – were arrested for violent infringements, others were arrested for minor things, meaning that some of the NFL’s problems has to do with adapting to incorporation in a police state.”

EVIDENCE OF TAMPERING CALLS SCOTLAND INDEPENDENCE VOTE INTO QUESTION
Jeff on questions Scotland’s vote on secession.
“Scotland voted ‘No.’ This is what headlines across the world read this morning, telling the story about how Scotland rejected independence from the United Kingdom. Slightly more muted, however, are reports of vote tampering, which threaten the narrative put forth by the global media – that, today, Scotland chose to remain a part of the United Kingdom.
What if, in reality, Scotland chose independence? We might never know. One thing is for sure, the 2014 Scottish vote for independence will join this long (and misleading) list of controversial elections.”
