After Earning $4.4 Million, Former NBA Player Broke, Can’t Find Decent Job, Works at McDonald’s (Picture)

Most people may believe that NBA first-round draft picks are going to be set for life. However, in David Harrison’s case, that isn’t always true. Harrison, a former University of Colorado standout, has been having a tough time adjusting to life after basketball. He is currently working at McDonald’s to help pay bills and expenses, with sources saying that he has been working there as recently as two years ago.

In his four seasons in the NBA with Indiana, as well as three seasons overseas playing professionally in China, Harrison netted $4.4 million before taxes. Harrison is now 32-years-old and has said that almost all of that money is gone. He also stated he is having a hard time finding a job and the fact that he is without a college degree isn’t helping.

With Harrison’s size, he was expected to be a great find in the NBA with a lot of potential. Standing seven feet tall and weighing 280 pounds, he had the traits to dominate his opponents. However, Harrison had a tough time living up to his potential and only averaged a disappointing 5 points and 3 rebounds per game in his four seasons. Before he knew it, his chances were gone and his journey in the NBA was cut short.  MOREHERE
