The controversial tweet came amid an escalating diplomatic dispute between Canada and Saudi Arabia after Ottawa denounced Rihadh’s imprisonment of human rights activists.Infographic KSA – described on its website as a volunteer group of Saudi youth interested in technology – published the image of the airliner with the warning: “He who interferes with what doesn’t concern him finds what doesn’t please him.”
The infographic also accused Canada of “sticking one’s nose where it doesn’t belong”.
The tweet was subsequently translated to English and French and retweeted hundreds of times before it and the account were deleted.
My view:
It is too late to say “sorry” when something like this is posted.
Clearly the intent was to threaten and intimidate, which is something we experience daily from many of the Islamic contingent of our citizenry.
That Canada dared question how women were treated in Saudi Arabia was the trigger of radical Islamic fury.
Time to take a stand and close the borders to many Middle Eastern countries who behave as though they belong in the Middle Ages.
If we wish to have a country where personal freedoms are respected, we must be very careful who we allow to immigrate. Not everyone is a person of good will.
