It’s the wealthy that are hoarding cash as in physical cash as an investment. So puzzled about how the 1.5 trillion dollars ended up missing they turned to Mnuchin. He conveyed the message that the crumbling emerging market economies are loaded with problems including failing local currencies so they are turning to the dollar. It’s not just the dollar Australia is experiencing the same thing right now.

If the Treasury is willing to admit $1.5T is missing you can bet it’s probably a whole lot worse than that.

I believe there is a massive amount of US one hundred dollar bills stashed in bank vaults. What I witnessed hints at it. I recently took a cash withdrawal from my local bank in Florida. The teller had to go to the vault to get more cash, specifically hundreds. I looked carefully at the hundred dollar notes she gave me as I could tell by their perfect crispness that they had never been circulated. The hundreds were printed in 2013!!!!! WTF?? Anyone else get very old, but uncirculated hundreds??
