I’ve worked since age 15, went to college & paid my loans. Never wanted more than to care for my child, have a modest home, participate in worthwhile work. Where has this left me? Disabled from working too hard & being unable to afford decent healthcare. At 61, I’m little more than a useless eater. EVERYTHING I earned went to pay debt. Lost my home of 20 years in 08, my health shortly afterward. If you’re younger than me, still in good health, choose a different path. The American Dream? You have to be asleep to believe in it.
