I was reminded of the fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin yesterday about how a seamstress was trapped in a dungeon until she spun straw into gold for the king. Rumpelstiltskin appeared and agreed to weave the gold for a gift. The king wanted more gold and Rumpelstiltskin appeared again for another gift from the seamstress. This happened over and over again until the seamstress had nothing more to give. Rumpelstiltskin finally asked for her soul, and she had to agree.
