The Average Person Only Has $8,000 Total - No One Taught Me How to Save (Video)

In this 3 June 2026 published video, host Michael Bordenaro talks about how shocking it is that many people still aren’t getting basic financial education, even in 2026! This video discusses the frustration of hearing people claim they were never taught how to get out of debt, the importance of budgeting, or even saving money. We need to prioritize financial planning for everyone.

It is completely valid to feel overwhelmed or frustrated by this, especially since personal finance is rarely taught in schools. According to the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Consumer Finances, the median American household only has about $8,000 across checking, savings, and money market transaction accounts. You are definitely not alone in feeling this squeeze or starting from scratch, but you can intentionally opt out of this standard cycle by building simple, automated systems

I see so many people driving new cars, new expensive cars, new expensive show cars AND trucks. They just cannot resist being seen in public like that, NO MATTER the cost. It’s a sickness they have on you.

The article opens by sating in 2026 it is … ” shocking it is that many people still aren’t getting basic financial education”

Actually, it’s painfully obvious that most people ARE getting a basic financial education, but it’s the 20th century version. Nowadays you are taught to go as deeply as possible into debt by borrowing for a car, a house and education loans that you can’t possibly afford to pay outright for today. This way you can earn a “good credit score” issued by the thieves who print and lend out the false paper money that is used today to enslave you the rest of your life.
