This is my last World Cup related post.
Frankly, the way the tournament played out has left a bad taste. Football has declined tremendously over the last twenty years. There’s no characters anymore. Cabo Verde was the most memorable team of this entire tournament. And Haaland was the most memorable player. But that’s about it.
Argentina is a great team, but they’re not world beaters. They won’t be worthy champs because of the all favourable calls they’ve received over the course of the tournament. Some of the non-calls were so blatant like the one in the video below. They were playing by different rules and different standards. That’s not true competition.
In the end the best team usually wins, regardless of the reffing. I hope we witness a fair final on Sunday where the rules apply to both teams.
If that’s the case Spain will dominate these fraudsters.
