Racing Ahead With Time–Computer Science Department at NITRA

Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA), one of the four textile research associations located in different parts of the country was established in the year 1974. The institute is located in Ghaziabad in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The objective of this institute was to impart a platform for conducting and initiating scientific research in the textile field. In the past decades, NITRA has evolved to become a premier that has been at the forefront of promoting and fostering scientific research studies for extension of knowledge in areas related to textile technology.

The Academic wing of NITRA, Nitra Technical Council (NTC) houses some prominent departments imparting education and boosting scientific research in areas related to textile technology and Computer Science. One of the most premier departments of NTC is the Computer Science and Engineering Department (CSE). The Computer Science Department at NITRA focuses on developing key skills in the personality of its students along with complete command on the subject matter. The program and curriculum of the CSE department is aimed at improving the foundational knowledge in Computer Science and equip students with skills to meet the demands of the rapidly changing IT industry. Moreover, the faculty at NITRA in collaboration with students has worked on several research projects. The innovative research projects have been facilitated by excellent mentorship of faculty through publishing books and relevant research papers.

The CSE department is well-equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories to match the requirements of current IT infrastructure. The department is equipped with some of the finest Computer labs like Computer Programming Lab, Data Structure Lab, Numerical Technique Lab, Logic Design Lab, DBMS Lab, Computer Organization Lab and a Microprocessor Lab.
