Father Arrested For Attempting To Pick His Children Up After School

At what point are your children not your children anymore?  Well, this Tennessee father was informed that he only has rights to his own children when the state says so.

A Cumberland County Tennessee man was attempting to pick up his special needs children after school on Monday Nov, 19th.  Instead of his children, what he found waiting for him, was a piece of paper that he was going to be forced to sign and a Sheriff to force him to comply.

The paper that the father eventually refused to sign, was a release form that required children to walk home, even in the rain, unsupervised.  When he refused to sign it, the Sheriff, threatened him with arrest.

The father told the Sheriff that he believed the policy was unsafe for the children and he would just like to take his kids home.

The father also informed the Sheriff of the law that parents are most certainly allowed to pick up their children once school is out of session.  The Sheriff replied, “you are correct, but it doesn’t say when.”  The Sheriff and school is now essentially holding the fathers children hostage.

In true cowardly and tyrannical police manner, once the Sheriff knew he was wrong, he arrested the father.

This is yet another example of the state claiming to own your children.
