Teachers Work Remotely: How to Improve Learning in the Pandemic Time

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Responding to the spread of the recent global pandemic, several schools now lean towards remote learning. The sudden transition to working and learning online has teachers, students, and schools grappling at different preparedness levels. Some schools don’t have adequate online teaching resources. Additionally, not all students have internet access at home.

While some schools can only send limited learning-packages, others ensure their students have devices, internet, and comprehensive curricula. Even with these, remote working education is still challenging, considering budget constraints. However, experts and practicing teachers have offered tips on how to improve learning in the pandemic time.

Student Participation

One initial challenge of remote teaching is motivating students to participate in online classes. A New York Times (Goldstein et al. 2020) post states that several teachers say they have less than half of their students regularly engage in online pandemic learning.

While some might be due to a lack of motivation, others are unreliable access to the internet. Thus it will help if teachers specify when students need to be online. And also the specific tasks they ought to complete.

Interactive Online Learning

Students can easily get lost in an online class. Teachers can give quick quizzes between lessons to keep students active and enhance learning. A lot of people learning online have their social accounts and even try to make money using them. Moreover, they try to use social marketing tools to make their learning and even work more convenient. To achieve social media management and automation in their process of earning. Online group presentations should be encouraged. These can help them absorb and remember materials.

English teacher Jasmine Lane’s tip on online learning in higher education is to record her voice reading a class text (Lane 2020). Students can replay and pause videos to respond to questions.

Integrating New Content

The need to bring in new materials is inevitable, considering the present times. Thus it is best if teachers can connect any novel information to something students may have already learned or can provide works as service review websites like Pick The Writer, Writing Judge do to assist a lot of students all over the world and to provide social media training on basic writing tips for everybody and has free time for another work or learning. Videos and images can be used to project examples.

Conclusion:

Remote working and learning aren’t going away anytime soon. Therefore adapting to new ways of improving education during the pandemic is essential. These tips are the right place for teachers and schools to start.

Hello everyone! About six months ago, I moved from China to the UK, and now, in order to get a job here in my specialty, I need to pass the IELTS exam, but unfortunately I’m not good at studying the material on my own. Do you know of any IELTS preparation courses? I would be very grateful for any advice!

I, like many others, believe that learning foreign languages will help you expand your horizons. My girlfriend and I have long wanted to learn English and I found a great method for learning English. On the promova.com website you can find grammar books where, as well as get your individual plan and improve your English in a few months. They use different methods such as commemorative postcards or online conversations.
