Despite our record-setting national deficits, struggling economy, and numerous unfunded federal entitlement programs, President Obama pushed through a universally opposed, $1.3 trillion health-care bill this past year. Regretfully, Senator Blanche Lincoln provided the 60th vote that made this misguided legislation into law.

John Boozman voted against ObamaCare because it fails to control costs, cuts $528 billion from Medicare, mandates a $200 million Medicaid increase on Arkansas, and needlessly expands the size of the federal government and its role in our healthcare economy.

If elected Senator, John Boozman has pledged to fight for the repeal of ObamaCare and replace it with health-care reform that lowers costs, streamlines the, preserves quality of care, and protects Arkansas taxpayers. As a former healthcare practitioner, John understands the challenges that doctors, community hospitals, providers, and administrators face. He recognizes that costs continue to soar, and he has proposed substantive reform initiatives to control costs and make American businesses more competitive.

John will fight for malpractice reform in an effort to rid our system of the frivolous lawsuits that drive up insurance rates for doctors
and increase costs for patients. He’ll push to allow across
state-line healthcare insurance purchases and work to increase free-market competition within the healthcare market. He’ll work to address the waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid and ease restrictions to allow healthcare pooling plans. In short, John will fight to improve healthcare for all Arkansans and oppose any and all “reform” efforts that increase government control, waste taxpayer dollars, and bloat the federal bureaucracy.
