Rubio Was On The Opposing Side Of Chiropractors During The “Personal Injury Protection” (PIP) Debate And Never Changed His Position On The Issue:

·         During The PIP Debate, Rubio Was “Not Against Keeping PIP” But Sought “To Make Sure Fraud Is Eliminated.” “He said he is not against keeping PIP; he just wants to make sure fraud is eliminated.” (Sarasota Herald Tribune, 6/10/07)

·         Rubio Was Fighting For Badly Needed Reforms To The PIP System. “Rubio spokeswoman Jill Chamberlin said he’s been clear there will be no new life for PIP unless attorney fees are capped and problems that allow patients to overuse it for unnecessary services are fixed. ‘The speaker has been consistent on this issue from Day One, going back years, that perpetuation of PIP is a continued license for fraud,’ she said.” (Orlando Sentinel, 9/15/07)

·         Rubio Supported PIP “After Months Of Negotiations And Significant Reforms” Were Made. “Rubio said it was only after months of negotiations and significant reforms that he finally agreed to support PIP. Included in those reforms was a fee schedule which limited the amount of money that could be paid for certain medical procedures. The new law also required pain clinics to be owned by actual doctors. ·         This Came Months After The Home Was Sold. “Six months after the sale of the house was complete, Rubio wrote Gov.
