I Pledge to Read all Bills
(ST. LOUIS, MO.) Oct. 26, 2010 – In the final week before Election Day Ed Martin is making pledges to the people of Missouri’s 3rd district. Every day he will present the people with a promise he will take to Washington. Ed Martin has already proven to the people he will work for them – these pledges will serve as written confirmation of his plan.
Ed Martin’s pledge today is: “I will read every bill and work to ensure bills are posted on-line 72 hours before a vote is taken – no exceptions.” – Ed Martin
Congressman Russ Carnahan publicly admitted to not reading the stimulus bill before voting for it. That stimulus bill funneled $107 Million to his brother, Tom Carnahan’s wind mill farm. The entire 3rd district of Missouri received just more than double that - $228 Million. Yet it only created a total of 568 total jobs. That means the government spent $401,978.57per job.
The Health Care bill, that Congressman Carnahan rubberstamped, was never seen by the people. As Speaker Pelosi stated, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.” What was uncovered was a bundle of back room deals, a staggering price tag, and a government takeover of health care that the majority did not want.
