Letters: Noem will protect unborn

What are the views of our U.S. congressional candidates? Kristi Noem says: “I am and always have been pro life. From the miracle of conception to a dignified death, life is precious and should be protected. The federal government has no business forcing taxpayers to pay for abortions. If elected to Congress, I will maintain a 100 percent pro-life voting record.”

Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin never has voted to defend innocent, precious, preborn babies. Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, believes that “a baby is not human until the mother takes him home from the hospital.” Ask a mother when she first holds that precious infant if the baby is human.

Herseth Sandlin voted against abortion-funding restrictions and conscience protections in the health care reform bill. She tells South Dakotans that she stands for South Dakota values and yet votes against life in the womb every time.

Should only wanted babies be valued? How many of you were surprises but are productive, human beings who contribute to our society?

Herseth Sandlin has received major support and contributions from the abortion industry. It’s on record that she voted against restricting funding for Planned Parenthood, a major abortion provider. Noem says she would have voted in favor or restricting funding of abortion clinics.

I have written Herseth Sandlin letters explaining the new ultrasound technology. Fact: Abortion stops a beating heart. Fact: An unborn baby has a heartbeat at 18 to 20 days after conception, and all of its organs are formed at 40 days. Fact: An unborn baby has a different DNA and is a separate human life that just needs a safe place to grow. She tells me: “We must unite.”
