WICHITA, KS – Businessman and military veteran Mike Pompeo thanked supporters Tuesday night after being declared winner of the 4th District Congressional race.

“Last night was a special night here in Kansas’ 4th District and across the country,” said Pompeo. “Thanks to all of you and millions of Americans, from state capitals to the U.S. House of Representatives, we are taking the first step in restoring Constitutional government and free market economic principles.”

Pompeo thanked his opponents for offering their service and then spoke to more than 1,000 friends, family and supporters gathered at Wichita’s JabaraAirport about the future.

“Even though we’ve crossed the finish line first, there’s still much work to be done. I will work tirelessly to create an economic environment that will encourage risk takers, entrepreneurs and job creators to expand in Kansas and create jobs right here in the 4th District.

“Susan and I have been tremendously blessed and humbled by your support throughout this campaign. I look forward to voicing your concerns, fighting for our principles and listening to all the people of the 4th Congressional District for whom it will be a high privilege to represent,” Pompeo concluded.
