Rep.-elect Noem Names Mobridge Native as Chief of Staff

SIOUX FALLS – Rep.-elect Kristi Noem today announced the appointment of Jordan Stoick as her congressional chief of staff. Stoick will manage the process of setting up the congresswoman-elect’s congressional offices in South Dakota and Washington, D.C. before assuming the role of chief of staff after she is sworn in on January 5.

“As I prepare to go to work in Congress, I’m focused on putting together a quality team of individuals that will help me serve South Dakota well. Jordan understands the issues important to our state, and his background and experience makes him a great person to help ensure we hit the ground running on behalf of all South Dakotans.”

Stoick, originally from Mobridge, is currently vice president at a Washington, D.C. public relations firm.  He has a number of years of experience working on Capitol Hill, most recently serving as communications director for U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi.  Previously, Stoick was press secretary for the Senate Republican Conference, for U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia and former U.S. Rep. Bob Beauprez of Colorado.

Stoick graduated from Mobridge High School in 1997.  After graduating from the University of South Dakota, he worked on the 2002 gubernatorial campaign of former Lieutenant Governor Steve Kirby.  He also worked for the South Dakota Republican Party during the 2002 general election.
