Allen Icet Named Chairman of Ed Martin for Congress Campaign

(St. Louis) – August 18, 2011 – Today, Ed Martin is honored to announce that conservative leader, former State Representative Allen Icet, has accepted the key leadership position of Chairman of the Ed Martin for Congress campaign. As Chairman, Icet will have a critical leadership role in the campaign’s operations and in helping the campaign effectively deliver the message of Restoring America’s Greatness.

“I am excited to announce my full endorsement for Ed Martin in his campaign to represent the people of the 2^ndCongressional District.  As a resident of this district, there is no one I would rather have fighting for my family in our nation’s capital. Ed Martin is a proven conservative warrior who has actually been in the trenches fighting for our state and nation.  In 2010, Ed took on a well-funded incumbent in an overwhelmingly Democrat district and nearly pulled off a miracle. I admire that courage.  If we want a true conservative who understands Missouri, who will fight for our jobs and defend us against Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi, then we must elect Ed Martin,” said Icet.

Icet, an engineer and businessman by trade, began serving the people of Missouri in 1994 as the President/Director of the Board of Education for the Rockwood School District—Saint Louis County’s largest public school system. In 2000, Icet became one of Missouri’s delegates to the Republican Convention. Icet also served as a Member of former House Minority Leader Catherine Hanaway’s 2001 Blue Ribbon Commission, recommending steps towards realistic budgeting.

In 2002, Allen Icet was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives, District 84. He served as House Budget Chair where he earned the reputation of serving the taxpayers of Missouri with integrity.

Icet resides in Wildwood with his wife, Carol. They are the proud parents of Sarah, Melissa, Alexandra and Daniel.
