Sherrod Brown Ties Barbara Boxer As One Of The Most Liberal Senators In America
If there was any remaining doubt that Sherrod Brown’s record is to the far left of most Ohioans, new rankings out today from National Journal should lay that to rest.
For the past three decades, National Journal has rated members of Congress based on selected roll-call votes from the previous year to create an ideological scale for Congress. And once again, Sherrod Brown’s voting record has placed him among the most liberal members of the United States Senate, tying him in fact with far-left California Senator Barbara Boxer.
Notably, PolitiFact Ohio recently reported that for the three years that Barack Obama has been in the White House, Brown has voted with him a whopping 95 percent of the time.
“It once again speaks volumes of just how far out of step Sherrod Brown is with most Ohioans when he’s battling with San Francisco’s Barbara Boxer for the title of ‘most liberal’ U.S. Senator,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Jahan Wilcox. “Sherrod Brown’s record in Washington has been one of reckless spending, bigger government and higher taxes, and while he will try to run from that record in the months ahead, Ohioans will have an opportunity to hold him accountable.”
