Shock: Obama EPA About To Mandate 4-Gallon Minimum Gasoline Purchase

InvestmentWatch

This is just a preview from what Empty Chair Obama plans on doing to the American public in his second term. How can the public support this pathetic excuse for a president?

FROM THE HILL:
The latest mandate handed down from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is so ridiculous, even I was shocked. The EPA has now mandated how much gasoline you must buy at certain gas stations. Say hello to the Obama Administration’s four gallon minimum.

This unprecedented EPA overreach applies when filling up at a gas station that provides both E15 and E10, gasoline with 15 or 10 percent of ethanol, respectively, from the same hose.

At the insistence of the ethanol industry, the Obama Administration is pushing E15 into the marketplace, regardless of the serious concerns about the fuel’s impact on drivers. From its inception, E15 is a study in the consequences of government interference in the marketplace. The EPA’s decision to set a minimum purchase requirement is just the most recent example.

If this seems too far-fetched to be true, here is what the EPA recently wrote in a letter to the American Motorcyclist Association:

“EPA requires that retail stations that own or operate blender pumps either dispense E15 from a dedicated hose and nozzle if able or, in the case of E15 and E10 being dispensed from the same hose, require that at least four gallons of fuel be purchased to prevent vehicles and engines with smaller fuel tanks from being exposed to gasoline-ethanol blended fuels containing greater than 10 volume percent ethanol.”

4 gallons next year…let me do the math. That should come to about a hundred dollars before taxes. What the heck, who needs food, water, and medicine.

    • TorriesD30

This will go over well with motorcycles that only have a two gallon fuel tank.

Or those filling their mower gas cans.
I have several 2 gallon and 2 and 1/2 gallon cans. Because I can’t lift a 5 gallon can of gas easily.

my moped has a 1.3 gallon tank. will the epa mandate I donate the rest to the dnc

From a mechanical point of view it kinda makes sense because a lot of older cars were not desigened to run on ethenol, like a alcohol dragster uses much more volume than gasoline,so if too much ethenol is introduced into a carburated engine it could cause serious problems, run a gasoline engine to lean and you burn pistons that kind of thing,we may as well face the facts things are changing and in a big way so itseither roll with the punches or else because people are too fragmented to stand together

      WTF? Can you people read?

“…Many motorcyclists may be stumped when attempting to fill up their bike that doesn’t even have the capacity to hold four gallons.

Other Americans will try unsuccessfully to fill up a one or two gallon fuel can with E10 to take it home and use in their outboard boat engine or lawnmower. Even worse, what will happen when they take the fuel home, tainted with E15, and overheat their snow blower?

In Wisconsin, where we get an average of four feet of snow per year, imagine the frustration of ruining an expensive snow blower only to find that the E15 unequivocally voided the warranty…”

The EPA is merely attempting to protect Wisconsinites from themselves and the likes of Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (God help them all…)

EVERY pump at the station is not going to dispense E15 or E10/E15. SOME of them will, SOME will only dispense E10.

Since E15 may fry a smaller engine, the EPA wants to prevent anyone from attempting to do so. You’re not going to pull up to the E15 pump with a motorcycle because you don’t WANT 4 gallons. HINT: You just pull up further to the pump that DOES dispense E10 or unblended or whatever and fill your 2 gallon motorcycle gas tank. See? More than one pump. Amazing, huh?

Jeeze… they’re not forcing everyone to buy 4 gallons minimum no matter what.

Turning food into fuel, with a return on energy invested less than 1, is stupid. The true argument here is to get rid of the Ethanol mandates all together. The Environmental Protection Agency has no basis in the Constitution to regulate energy use and therefore this whole program needs to be scraped.

For the pukes that support Obama-Don’t-Care; here is the beginning salvo of what that legislation monstrosity will bring to America; Obama telling us what and how much we MUST buy. Fire ‘em all.

    • Pateriot

Did anyone listen to what was said by the EPA? What they said, was that they recommended that people pump no less than 4 gallons of gas on pumps that use the same nozzle as the ethonal type gas. This was to ensure that vehicles that aren’t set up to burn it don’t get too large of a concentrate of the ethonal which might have been left in the nozzle and hose by a previous customer. This is an attempt to keep the consumer from potentially damaging their vehicles which weren’t designed to handle ethenol. On pumps that use seperate nozzles this would not apply. Christ, doesn’t anyone actually pay attention or do you just respond to the sensationalized headline?

There is certainly enough things in the country and the World to be concerned with and alarmed by. This is not one of them!!

      • pattiesimmons

I could NOT have said it better myself.
        Well done!

      • StealthGreen

Where does the EPA get the authority to impose mandates that damage citizen’s personal property, and then have to make rules to prevent that damage? The solution is for the EPA to stop forcing consumers to buy Ethanol fuel.

    • One Who Knows

Again the obummer admin flexes is intellectual muscle “stop is as stupid does”

    • FalkeAuge

If this is true “What a chop!” That is as irrational as you may get a decision. Even the dictators in Africa make better decisions.

I bet I am not the only person who thinks the dissolution of the federal government would be a good thing for humanity.

Well its about Time that Americans Civilians learn to downsize.
No need to drive a V8 and a Caddy or big 4×4 with usually just one Person in it.
Never in my entire life of 70 Years did I own anything bigger than a 4Cyl. Car. and about 14 Motorcycles keeping the Economy going but staying Green.
If everyone had acted that frugal we would have Oil for another Hundred Years.
Now I am driving a SMART and being Gas I still complain of the poor Gas Mileage.
There are hundreds of Cars in Europe that get 4l/100 or better than 65mpg U.S. some are even build in the U.S.A. for Export only.Shame on all of those that control you Americans.
Shame on you Americans for not having the Guts to speak up.
So 4 Gallon Rations,I can live with that and I even have some Spare.
Those of you that want to remain patriotic go on driving your Caddy and Hummer.

    • Joerg Klaemt

Before someone jumps on my Fuel Guzzling Remark I know that these Remarks do not Directly adress this issue but are part of the Solution.
We would not need to add Ethanol if we had enough of the other stuff.
Otherwise the posting is Status Quo.
By the way Shell does not add Ethanol to their 91 V power Gas Quote:

The smart thing to do would be to go back to regular gas with no ethanol. That would lower the price of gas and save a heck of a lot of money in vehicle repair costs, and subsidies paid to corn growers.
