Punch TV Forms Partnership with Carson High school
Carson, CA, Punch TV Network has just signed a new educational partnership agreement with Los Angeles’ Carson High School. The new two-year agreement will give students in the Performing Arts and Media Academy (PAMA) the opportunity to explore and develop skills that could lead toward careers in performing and media arts.
Punch TV will be providing hands-on skills training in public speaking, editing and script writing as well as video filming and performing. Team building will also be emphasized. “Working cooperatively, responsible, committed, and having great organizational skills are key elements to any professional career choice,” says Punch TV CEO Joseph Collins, “that is why Punch TV is proud to be part of this new internship program at Carson High School.”
Students of all grade levels in the PAMA program will participate in career orientations, workshops, and meet with mentors in real work situations. Each student will be exposed to the nitty-gritty of working in television production. Mr. Collins added, “Punch TV is reaching out to community youth to help them become the future executives, innovators and creative minds of tomorrow. This is where new technology and ideas can begin”
The training at Punch TV will begin in the fall of 2011 and continue through 2013 with an opportunity for additional years. The program follows the guidelines set by the Los Angeles Unified School District for Academic Core Class’s A-G requirements for graduation and college admission.
