What next for CBB winner Paddy Doherty?

Channel 5’s first attempt at resurrecting the grandfather of all reality TV shows is at an end and the celebrity magazines are alive with comment on the man who emerged victorious. But as Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty is crowned Celebrity Big Brother Winner 2011, we ask, what’s next for the former bare-knuckle fighter?   In the past, we’ve seen Big Brother contestants go on to win modelling contracts and launch their very own perfume lines. It seems pretty unlikely that the Irish traveller will do either of these, but one thing’s for sure – the future is certainly looking bright for him. Here are five things we think Paddy should consider now he is a bona fide celebrity.  

Releasing a single   Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting), Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home), Gypsies Tramps and Thieves – the possibilities are endless if Paddy wants to make his big break into the record industry. Although we don’t know much about his singing voice, we think Paddy has what it takes to be the next, erm… Steve Brookstein?  

Start a celebrity blog   There are probably plenty of things Paddy has to say about his time in the house and we all love a bit of celebrity gossip. So, with that in mind, shouldn’t he consider using his new-found star status to give us an insight into a world most of us can only dream about? He could well be the next Perez Hilton!  

Launch a clothing line Maybe he isn’t a style icon now, but how many of us wish we could pull off the Bruce Willis vest look in the same way Paddy does? Now is the time for the ‘wife-beater’ vest to come back and without doubt it should be designed by the House of Doherty (or should that be caravan?).  

Buying a house It can’t be much fun being packed into a caravan with the whole family and after three weeks of being in close proximity to Jedward, we think Paddy deserves a break. Although there isn’t any prize fund he can tap into, we think there are plenty of opportunities available that could be used to give Mr Doherty somewhere private to rest his weary head.  

More reality shows Let’s face it, this year’s Celebrity Big Brother winner has done pretty well for himself when it comes to reality TV shows, so why stop now? Of course, the Strictly Come Dancing line-up for 2011 has already been announced, but there is always next year! How about it, Paddy? Do you fancy squeezing into some sequined Lycra trousers and giving us a Mambo? Basically he needs to do anything he can to remain in the celebrity news pages.
