Aleister Crowley is one of the most vile and disgusting men that I have ever read about. He was born with the name Edward Alexander Crowley on the day of October 12, 1875. Later during his teen years he became inspired by Arthur E. Waite’s book, The Book of Black Magic and of Pacts, Crowley joined the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. This secret society held within its membership elite and highly influential members of society. There he introduced to ceremonial magic the ritualistic usage of drugs. He many times boasted for sacrificing about 100 children per year for his rituals.
Leah Hirsig demanded that Crowley should eat her excrement, which lay on the the consecrated plate on the alter. It’s reported Crowley cleaned his plate of poop under Hirsig’s stern gaze, then described the experience:
“My mouth burned; my throat choked; my belly retched, my blood fled whither who knows, and my skin sweated. She stood above me, hideous in contempt” (mediaexposed para 2).
He also wrote a book on how he had an encounter with a demon.
The final day of Aliester Crowley…Thank God! Mr. Crowley died December 1, 1947 and it is known that he died of pneumonia.

Crowley’s works are not easy reading. Much of it is tongue in cheek, and only careful reading of the footnotes will reveal where he was being deliberately scandalous. The bit about child murder and pederasty is one. This is not to say the man would have made a good roommate …. he drove several people to madness in the Abbey of Thelema. As for the copraphagy: reading a bit further on would have revealed his advice that his students should not try it. He was trying to experience everything, how shall we say, “extreme” so that he could give first hand advice on whether or not there was any good to be found in the various practices. Personal habits aside, he was an incredible poet.
