October 13, 2014 — In just two years, the indie music label Los Angeles Based Records (LAB Records) ran by music producer Kev Da Khemist & recording artist Omar Cruz, has transformed from a relatively obscure record company, into a fast rising entity in urban music.

Since the release of LAB Records flagship artist Yung We$ts’ first single, “Bang Out” on June 10th, 2014 word has quickly spread amongst hip-hop insiders that a new force to be reckoned with was on his way. Three months later on September 30th any doubts about the South-Central L.A. emcees’ potential were laid to rest. “#1000” the second single produced by Jay Musik, was released on iTunes. It was featured next to industry heavyweights on the front page of the New Hip-Hop & Rap Releases section and its impact was felt immediately.

“The people that are getting behind the ‘#1000′ record and expressing their support for the LAB Records movement has been a great blessing,” commented Kev Da Khemist, CEO of the company. “Stay tuned because the best is yet to come!”

The same day “#1000” was released, The Max & Marcellus show on AM 710 ESPN LA played the instrumental during their broadcast. According to the shows Creative Producer, Mario Ruiz, the “#1000” instrumental has been added to rotation on the show. Two days after the release of “#1000” on October 2nd, DJ Felli Fel from Los Angeles radio station Power 106 (KPWR 105.9 FM) exclusively premiered “#1000” by Yung We$t on the “New At 2” with co-host Yesi Ortiz. The response for the new single has been tremendous and continues to garner attention from music industry insiders and fans alike.

A customer who recently purchased the single on iTunes remarked, “Yung We$t is the truth! Great follow up from Bang Out!”

Yung We$t & LAB Records are poised to make a big and lasting impact in the burgeoning west-coast hip-hop scene.
