Adina Howard's Freaky Return

With the recent success of Kickstarter funded campaigns from acts like TLC, Carmen Rodgers and even De La Soul, crowd funding is beginning to look like a viable new way for artists to fund their music. In fact, at the time of this writing, De La Soul has already raised $417,000 of their $110,000 ask. At this rate, with 20 days of their campaign left, they are set to surpass TLC. TLC raised $430,000 in February with their campaign. Now, Adina Howard has jumped on the bandwagon. In case you’re scratching your head trying to remember who she is, she’s the woman behind hits like “Freak Like Me” and “T-Shirt and Panties” featuring Jamie Foxx. Ms. Howard is now back, with a Go Fund Me campaign for a new single titled “Bad 4 Me”.

What’s odd about this campaign is it raising money for a single and not an album. She itemized the $30,000 ask out (which mainly includes promotion) for her fans to see.
