Across his wider career, his songwriting and production work has been associated with more than 30 number-one records on various international charts, with cumulative global sales reported to exceed 300 million units.

The studio became another important part of his professional life. Rafelson built and operated RMC Studios in North Hollywood, creating a facility that served recording and mixing projects involving prominent artists. Work connected with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way and Beyoncé’s 4 took place at the studio, both albums reaching number one on the Billboard 200. The facility was also used for projects involving artists such as Pink, Jason Derulo, Taylor Swift, will.i.am, and Jason Mraz.

Running a studio required a different perspective from writing a song or producing a recording. It placed Rafelson within the infrastructure behind contemporary music, where technical teams, artists, producers, and executives come together to complete major projects. This experience complemented his work as a label executive and publisher, giving him involvement in several stages of the recording process.

Through RM Records, Rafelson continued to develop and distribute music independently. The label became a platform for releases by multiple artists as well as his own recordings under the name Zebulon Raphael. His broader business activities also included music publishing companies and distribution relationships connected with major industry organizations, including Virgin Music.

International markets became another area of interest. From the late 1990s onward, Rafelson participated in entertainment and business development initiatives across East and Southeast Asia. His activities included early efforts involving Korean popular music, digital distribution, licensing, and cross-border partnerships before K-pop achieved its later level of global prominence.
