If climate models are correct, then Hurricane Sandy, and the flooding it brought, gave us a gentle preview of the not-so-distant future.
A recent NASA study found that between 1992 and 2012, global sea levels rose, on average, a little more than one inch each decade or about 3 millimeters per year. That’s much faster than climatologists had expected.

The trend is not reversing.
Sea levels rise because of melting glaciers and ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica as a result of warming temperatures. The ocean also expands as it warms.
Rising sea levels make coastal areas, particularly those with dense populations, much more vulnerable to heavy flooding.
The day when continents are overtaken by seawater may seem far off, but the threat is very real.
Nickolay Lamm, from StorageFront.com, wants the world to know just how real.
The artist and researcher created sea-level-rise maps depicting what major U.S. monuments would look like over the next century if we continue on a business-as-usual track.

The Earth is going through a period of rebirth; of great expansion. Just like a snake when it sheds it’s skin, similiarly the Earth expands wholisticly. As the Earth goes through this period of huge expansion, the plates in the crust do not just slide below one another, as converntional belief would have it – but rather the plates slide out from one another to fill in the gaps. This causes unEarthly booming noises, and other such unexplained phenomenon like sinkholes where the plates don’t overlap, but nonetheless the land is not able to withstand the forces of the expansion, and the most-stressed, or weakest portions have to give.
As our Earth expands outwardly, the sea floor also rises – think of a ballon expanding in water. Our Earth’s atmosphere also expands and our days become longer (while at the same time we seem to experience time speeding up). Note: it was reported after the Japn Earthquake, that our days became shorter. They didn’t. Our Earth did speed up it’s rotation, but this in reponse to the increase in mass (in total) of the Earth, and in keeping with the relatively of all things greater- not because the mass of our Earth shifted.
