Fukushima--Oceans Dying: Increasing Radiation, Not Acidity Killing Scallops--We're Running Out Of Time (video and pictures)

An increase of acidity in the Pacific Ocean is quickly killing off one of the world’s most beloved shellfish, the scallop, according to a report by the British Columbia Shellfish Grower’s Association.

“By June of 2013, we lost almost 95 per cent of our crops,” Rob Saunders, CEO of Island Scallops in B.C. told Canada’s CTV News.

The cause of this increase in acidity, scientists say, is the exponential burning of fossil fuels for energy and its subsequent pollution. Oceans naturally absorb carbon dioxide, a byproduct of fossil fuel emissions, which causes acidity to rise.

An overdose of carbon in the atmosphere subsequently causes too much acidity in the world’s oceans, Chris Harley, a marine ecologist from the University of British Columbia, told CTV News. Overly acidic water is bad for shellfish, as it impairs them from developing rigid shells. Oyster hatcheries along the West Coast are also experiencing a steep decline, CTV News reports. I like how they mention fossil fuels, when we all know that the alternative Nuclear fuel is sooo dangerous and uncontrollable. We dont even have the tech to clean Nuclear accidents up, and we will all die before we do. As an example, these holding areas are supposed to store fuel for hundreds of years while we are supposed to find a way to pacify the toxins, yet they dont even last 20 years and a major accident happens. Nuclear power is nuclear bombs in slow motion. With one major accident every 10 years roughly, we have set the set the timer on.

I live on the west coast, and have seen the horror first hand. The Pacific ocean is dying at an alarmingly fast rate.. I fear a completely dead body of water in just a few years.
See, the problem is that land animals have millions of years of adaptation to radiation, and have developed defense mechanisms against it, This radiation comes from the rocks (low level) and mostly, the sun (high level) Much of it is similar to nuclear radiation, and it is still lethal, but, we have a moderate defense against it. If any proof were needed, it’s that the wildlife in Chernobyl is thriving. Against all expectations.
Sea life is different. Deep in the depths, life there has absolutely NO defense against radiation from the sun, and even surface dwelling animals such as dolphins and whales, only have a very moderate defense. The hard skin needed to protect against solar radiation simply does not exist. It’s no wonder, then, that exposure to Fukushima radiation in the water is melting starfish, causing huge tumors on whales and dolphins, and all sorts of horrific mutations and unpleasant forms of disease in sea life. They simply don’t have the thousands of years needed to develop a defense against this radiation before they all die off.
So, as I said, a dead ocean in just a few years. And it can’t be stopped. We need to find an alternate food source NOW, as fish feeds half the world…

an to think,, in 3 years time,, one dead ocean .. wait for another 3 years,, another dead ocean..
if not 3 years then 9 years / 90 years.. theses things last for 1000′s of years..

wait for more to come.. the worlds nuke plants were only designed to last 30 years an be shut down .. NOT NARY A NUKE plant has ever been discontinued ever..

most earth’s oxygen comes from the ocean..

it’s TPTB’s natural selection to get thru the VanAllen belt..imho..

What a bunch of bullcrap from these “scientists”. I know their agenda and it is to promote more climate change crap. If they would quit deforesting the planet of the trees that use the carbon dioxide to make oxygen that would show they really cared. Oh, and how about the chemtrails every single day everywhere. Tell me again how the two faced environmentalists care so much about the earth. Also, they aren’t telling us publically about the radiation concern or Yellowstone are they?

    • shock an awe

our Governments dont give a damn about us, they want to control us right up to the bitter end ,why is our media and scientific community lying , dont panic the taxpayer we wouldnt want to hurt the economy.
