High priests of climatology have divided our climate into two

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

It’s amazing (but maybe not surprising) to see how confused leading climatologists are about common things in life. But maybe it’s intentional to prevent the public and politicians understanding and criticizing them.

A November 2015 report by NOAA “Explaining Extreme Events of 2014” is riddled with Mumbo-Jumbo:

The report says: “Human activities……influenced specific extreme weather and climate events in 2014.”

Firstly, there no such thing “climate events.”  Yes, we have “weather events” and even “extreme weather events” but “climate” is essentially an historical record of “weather events” (an accumulated statistical summary) presented in a form that enables meteorologists to predict future “weather events” or likelihood of “extreme weather.”  So we can have “climate data” or “climate models” and even “climate change” but there’s no such thing as “climate events.”

They say “Human activities influenced…………climate events in 2014, including tropical cyclones.” No. No. climatologists don’t own the English language. We own the language, not them and we know what the words mean. “Cyclones” are “weather events” as already pointed out so they mustn’t confuse the terminology.

They say “half of these papers show a linkage to human-caused climate change.” So climatologists have linked half their papers “to human-caused climate change.” I didn’t know papers can be linked to climate and WHY ONLY HALF? What about the other half?

Isn’t that incredible that these climatologists are able to tell us what part of climate is “human-caused” and what part is “non-human-caused.” Here’s their convoluted logic: They say that certain “weather events” are more extreme than we expect but we can’t blame this on anything we see concurrently. Therefore these “weather events” must have an invisible human factor adding to the natural factors to make this more extreme. Therefore, we define a new concept: We now have some “weather events” that are caused by two independent factors. These special events are called “human and non-human-caused weather events.” And because “weather” and “climate” are related, (that’s quite obvious) they now also define “human and non-human-caused climate.” In everyone else’s books “climate” is essentially an historical summary (of an accumulated record) of all “weather events.” But now the high priests of climate have divided our climate, not just our weather but also our climate, into two classes: Simple natural climate, on one hand, or “human and non-human-caused climate” on the other and they will tell us which class each part of the climate belongs into. They are the high priests of our climate and therefore if they say our weather is more extreme than in the past and they (with their all seeing eyes) can’t see a link to anything else, then a little gremlin with his invisible links, the human factor, is to blame.

They say scientists investigated 28 individual extreme events…. and break out various factors that led to the extreme events …. Including……human-induced climate change played a role.” So these climatologists are now saying that “climate change” plays a role in causing “extreme weather events.”  In previous reports they were in the habit of using long wordy sentences to say that unprecedented weather effects were causing extreme weather……in simple terms, unexpected weather causes extreme weather. Oh really! How does the weather cause the weather? So there was something wrong with their logic; but now there’s something wrong with their language processing abilities as well! In case they don’t know this, by definition of the English language “weather” is always a sequence of “events” while on the other hand “climate” is always only an historical record of “events.”  An historical record cannot cause the “weather.” It can only record the “weather.”

We can’t yet dismiss the possibility that human activities are really affecting the weather; but the world should be very worried when climatologists stray from the clear and logical world of science into the weird and wonderful world of ABRACADABRA. We don’t have to take a leap of faith and trust these high priests of climatology.
