Hugo, this friend, uses the French “deja vu” expression in his brief expose, so, thinking that he is Francophile, we suggest him to read the 1924 successful play: “DOCTEUR KNOCK by Jules Romain”. Doctor Knock is a crook turned medical doctor who uses peculiar methods in order to have the entire village getting sick under his “benevolent” cares. This black comedy, recently made into a movie is very actual to the present “medical situation”. One detail is striking in the play, it is in the first scene, when Knock the crook asks a question to the departing physician of the village “where no one is sick”: Knock asks: “Do they have Black Masses?” So there it is, the crook had no concern that the entire populace was healthy and strong as a horse, but if they were practicing sorcery: Knock’s only sizable “medical” competition.
This theater play, gone to the big screen is considered a classic in modern French literature.

mentioning DOCTEUR KNOCK is not so much for bringing a little of a dark humor as a mere side show to the immense tragedy occurring, but to bring to attention the roots of education of President Emmanuel Macron which has seeded his morbid and calculated cynicism. This current president has momentarily stalled his vaccination enthusiasm due to incoming election, but be certain that once reelected he will make-up for lost time with speed.
What was the basic education to little Emmanuel? the same as to all the pupils of the Republic, that is the putting down of the pre-Revolution era, the glorification of Napoleon, as well as a pedantic self-certitude of a superior intellect driven by a refined art of “nuance” (double-talk). The French intellectuals decry “world injustices” but nevertheless (for the Parisians) never forget that Paris has been the proud mother to world monsters such as Lenin, Pol-Pot and other lesser known blood thirsty tyrants.

Macron’s second government has not changed in its type of organization, with the difference that the new prime minister Jean Castex is a step down from the high school principal to the mere “Surveillant General” (head high school security). One thing is certain, all have read and studied Docteur Knock by Kules Romain, and trust us! that after Macron is reelected, many villages will be very sick, it wont be a theater comedy and it won’t be funny at all.
