When I graduated from high school, I went off to college, and my friend went off to the Marine Corps. We all said, “Oh, man. He’ll never make it. Dave was a great guy, but a bit of a sissy. We were sure he would wash out the first week. Not so. He made it four years, and came home a Marine. We were all proud of him. I was proud he was my friend.
