Hi everyone. Hope you all had a great Christmas and stuff, but it looks like we’re jumping straight into 2024 with the same bollocks we’ve become accustomed to for the past few years of nonsense

British cops probing first rape case in ‘metaverse’ after child ‘attacked’ in video game

That’s right! British police, who currently believe they are not stupid enough, are now investigating things that happen in video games

Police are investigating the first case of rape in the metaverse after a child was “sexually attacked” in a virtual reality video game.

It is said a gang of men raped the avatar of a girl aged under 16 during a video game. The victim wasn’t physically injured but is said to have suffered the same psychological and emotional trauma as someone who has been raped in the “real world”.

So. Many. Questions.

The first and foremost being, what the fuck are the police thinking, even touching this?

I assume, as this is a virtual ‘crime’, it will need to be investigated virtually? The police will need to create their own online personas, log into the game and investigate online. If they do manage to catch the e-perps, judges and a jury will also need to be added to the metaverse for the trail

And of course, once convicted, they will be sent to an online, virtual reality jail. I mean, if a girl can be raped online and get the same amount of trauma as a real rape, her attackers can be put in online prison and get the same trauma as being banged in a real slammer

Right?

Police leaders are now calling for legislation to tackle a wave of sexual offending in such a sphere, saying officers’ tactics must evolve to stop perverts using new technology to exploit children.

Of course they are. They never miss an opportunity to demand more legislation. Notice how they use the usual, ‘Protecting the kiddies’ as their excuse? I just see this as being a step up from the Twitter police though. Coppers spending hours on end in the metaverse looking for e-crimes, rather than doing some actual work and catching criminals in the real world

Might be fun though, in that reality you could blow the coppers away with machine guns. But then guns would need to be banned in the metaverse. Yes, I’m over thinking this

However, the landmark case has prompted questions about whether police should be pursuing virtual offences.

That question should never need to be asked, but we do live in a clown world
