2. Personally, I have always wanted to know more about the Byzantine Empire. Fjordman did an EXCELLENT essay on how in fact, the knowledge of the ancients did in fact get lost to the Western Church in Rome, and in a way, the Muslims were responsible for bringing the light of knowledge back to the West. They did it by laying siege and waging Jihad on Byzantium, Constantinople to be precise until all the craftsmen, priests and learned people escaped and moved West to Rome, bringing the sacred texts of the Greeks with them. 3. Daniel Greenfield does another exceptional article, this time about the changing narrative of Islam in the West. How it went from, The Religion of Peace, to, The Religion of Terror and we should all support that.

“Muslim friends and citizens, tax-paying citizens, and Muslims in nations were just appalled and could not believe what we saw on our TV screens. These acts of violence against innocents violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith. And it’s important for my fellow Americans to understand that,” President George W. Bush had claimed in remarks at a mosque after 9/11 while accompanied by terror-linked Islamists. “The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don’t represent peace.”

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice recently asked the former president to talk about his mosque visit after the attacks to “make sure that our Muslim American citizens knew that we didn’t blame them for what had happened.” Bush chimed in, “I also made it clear that Islam was a religion of peace, not a religion of war, and that these people subverted their religion.”

Muslims, however, don’t agree. It’s not just the generation of Islamic terrorist attacks that have taken place in America since then, the vast majority of which were not organized or planned out by any central terror network like Al Qaeda, but by ordinary Muslims living in the United States.

Some of them may have even paid their taxes.

While Bush was nostalgically recalling his comments after 9/11, the father of Todd Beamer, one of the heroes who led the effort to retake Flight 93 from the Islamic terrorists who had hijacked it, was recording a commercial against Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan. David Beamer had not previously gotten involved in politics, but El-Sayed had been campaigning with Hasan Piker, a Turkish Muslim influencer who said that “America deserved 9/11” and recently told an interviewer that “pound for pound”, America was worse than Al Qaeda and that was too much.

The most stunning sentence though: “Last year, every Muslim member of Congress called for reparations to Muslims for 9/11.”

4. Today passing the Parliament Buildings, the seat of Canada’s government allegedly, I saw a display that could not have been more perfectly symbolic of the real nature of Canada as it actually is. We here at VTB refer to Canada’s dictatorial nature as a state rather than a government. A government typically means people who are picked by the people to represent them in a legislature, and hopefully to represent the fundamental principles of the polity in question. So more or less a republic in that sense. But today passing parliament I saw what you see in the photo below. An utterly perfect symbol of Canada as it is. The actual parliament is covered by a very close photo or illustration of Parliament, obscuring the actual building. The real explanation could be anything. Probably something moderately banal like its hiding construction work. But seeing it I blurted out loud from the back of a cab, “This is the perfect representation of Canada as it really is! The illusion of a parliamentary democracy covering up the actual unreachable inscrutable state behind the image which makes the actual decisions. The driver half turned and gave me the thumbs up and said, “You are absolutely right about that”. Ok so it’s not just me then. Cool.

Pretty sure the Potemkin nature of this illusion was not lost on whoever ordered this to be created.

Perhaps we should get a drawing made of some angry protestors with generic signs placed in front of the gate.

5. The muslim arrested for a chemical weapons mass casualty jihad plot may have been part of a cell. No one reading this site needs to understand what follows here. But nearly all of the rest of the non-Islamic world, and even much of the Islamic world does. And that is that this man who was arrested for a terror plot, was on a trajectory for jihad because of his attendance of a mosque. It was not a radical mosque. All mosques are “radical” from the point of view of Western people.

Islam is a different SYSTEM OF THOUGHT. it has FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT VALUES. The more islamic a person is, the greater their adherence to the faith of Islam, the more of a threat they are to all non-Muslims. The Koran states “We have been made victorious by terror”. This isn’t a metaphor. Read the Tasfirs on that. Tasfirs are official, legal interpretations of Koranic verses so that if a person is confused about a verse like, “Take not the Jews and Christians as your friends as they are only friends to each other” the Tasfirs will explain it clearly. Which is to say, not the way the apologists would have you believe. We cannot deal with a threat if we pretend that Muslims who behave in a way that is authentically Islamic are an aberration. They are not. They are the orthodoxy. So when someone you know suddenly starts going to mosque religiously, and dresses in a more middle eastern or medieval fashion, you know he is on his way to being a problem. Also if they have a large bruise somewhere near the middle of the forehead. That is pretty much a jihadi marker, even if it isn’t a person expecting die in Allah’s way. It might be someone who just encourages others to do so.
