More than 1,000 Volunteers Join UACDC to “Paint the Town” Jan. 18
WHAT:
More than 1,000 volunteers from community organizations, residential associations and local student groups are banding together to clean up the neighborhood for the University Area Community Development Corporation’s (UACDC) second annual “Paint the Town” event.
WHEN:
Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014
8:30 a.m. community breakfast, 9 a.m. pep rally, 9:30 projects begin, 12 p.m. celebration

Breakfast, registration, pep rally and celebration will be held on the UACDC lawn. Media will be directed accordingly.

Paint the Town is a program of the UACDC and is sponsored by PNC Bank and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful. Partners include Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsborough County Code Enforcement and USF Student Affairs Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement. Volunteer groups for Paint the Town include:

WHY:
Paint the Town is a community event that brings area residents together with an army of volunteers to show what can happen when you pair belief with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and invest some sweat equity into transforming our community. This year, the UACDC combined efforts to Make it Happen! for this community.
Make it Happen! is a community-wide campaign that brings the collective strengths of the community to bear on the greatest challenges. UACDC and over 60 non-profit, business and government partners coordinate our collective resources, skills and specialties within a shared, holistic community transformation strategy.
