BP Oil Spill Part Two? Huge Oil Rig Explodes In Lake Pontchartrain!

A large oil rig exploded last night on Lake Pontchartrain, LA. 5 crew were badly injured, one is still missing.

OK, my conspiritorial mind goes to work immediately. New algae farm? For those not familiar with fuel from algae and how oil and synthetic bacteria called Synthia work, I suggest a quick read of a thread I wrote in 2010 on the subject on David Ickes forum. PS, I’m not inactive, they banned me.

The 2010 Gulf Oil Spill was apparently done purposefully to #1 Run up gas prices and #2 create a huge algae farm in the Gulf of Mexico, Chesapeake Bay, and the Great Lakes region. The synthetic bacteria was applied to “clean up” oil spill in all of these regions during 2010 and since. That’s why the Great Lakes look like this now.

The Great Lakes are a major source of drinking water, and so is Lake Pontchartrain. Poison the air with chemtrail, poison the water with bacteria, and poison the food with chemicals. Get it?

There’s another interesting aspect to consider – water. The amount of water required for algae cultivation is large. Still, I see few people really factoring in the criticality of water, or attaching a cost to it in their calculations. Thankfully, one way by which water can indeed be obtained free of cost is by using sea water. But you need specific strains of algae (such as those belonging to the Nannochloropsis species) for marine water, and these strains might not necessarily have all the desired characteristics. What if highly desirable strains were genetically modified so they could thrive in marine water? Success in such an effort will go a long way in lowering the cost of cultivation, while at the same making large-scale algae cultivation that much more feasible.

THE FUTURE OF fuel is green, slimy, and reeks of fish. “Fish smell like fish because fish eat algae,” says Imad Ajjawi, a geneticist at the synbio company Synthetic Genomics in La Jolla, CA that grows those smelly photosynthesizers.

This algae is also fatty, which probably isn’t a word you’d typically associate with the goopy, mucky organism. But scientists like Ajjawi have spent decades dreaming about algae this fat. Because fat is essentially oil, fatty algae could be the world’s most successful fuel crop. Ajjawi and his colleagues spent nearly a decade tweaking an algae genome so it produces more than twice as much fat than wild versions of the same species, and Monday they described their efforts in an article published in Nature Biotechnology.

And as if on cue, recent legislation was passed to “control” the algae, which is not algae, as you see, by synthetic bacteria.

The Harmful Algal Bloom and Hypoxia Research and Control Act:

• Reauthorizes the Harmful Algal Bloom and Hypoxia Research and Control Act, which has served as the primary federal tool to combat algae blooms since its enactment in 1998, through Fiscal Year 2022;
• Adds the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to the Federal Task Force on Harmful Algal Blooms and Hypoxia, which is responsible for addressing federal response to algae bloom incidents; and

Requires a scientific assessment report submitted to Congress on marine and freshwater harmful algae blooms, including in the Great Lakes.

Doesn’t it sound an aweful lot like the clean water act? Why was this sheriff so nervous about this rig explosion?

Drive just a few miles south of the Ohio border, and you’ll find yourself on a bridge over the Maumee River, which runs through downtown Toledo on its way to Lake Erie.

Right now, the river is an oddly beautiful emerald green, as if it had been dyed to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day six months early. Except it isn’t dye, it’s algae. The Maumee flows into Lake Erie, which has been hit with one of the largest algal blooms on record, one that stretches all the way to Canada, as well as for many miles west.

And any thoughts about how beautiful this all is are likely to be driven away the moment you encounter the horrible dank sewage smell, or notice the dying fish on the shoreline.
