Lucas Boyd ,There is so much more to these planes than the ability to reach for the sky. As a kid growing up in Colorado Springs, these balsa wood planes were sheer magic! We would spend Summer days eating Spree candies, drinking RC Cola, catching snakes, listening to Steely Dan, and debating who would win a battle between Batman and Darth Vader! Flying these planes around the park allowed my brothers and I to expand our horizons and imagine what it would be like to touch the sky! When I became a father of three boys, I would take my kids, who were little at the time, to the park and fly the same brand of balsa wood planes and the new micro engine battery operated planes! Now, they too, have an appreciation for flight and expanding their minds. Great memories, indeed!
