Daily Haze: Week 9 Waiver Wire Adds

Halfway through the 2012 NFL regular season. Crazy how time flies.

Fantasy seasons, meanwhile, are just a few weeks away from the playoffs. Not much time to make a move now. Trade deadlines likely are approaching or imminent, so the time to deal is now.

Otherwise, you still can find value on the waiver wire.

Josh Freeman has put together back-to-back solid weeks, finally making good use of a decent receiving corps. I don’t love Russell Wilson, but he’ll do as a bye-week filler if needed.

If you are desperate at running back, add DeAngelo Williams if he was dropped. There’s a chance he gets traded. If not, you can always cut him again. Speculative add. A few young runners, Jacquizz Rodgers and Ronnie Hillman, played well in blowouts. Rodgers should get more shots with Michael Turner struggling. Hillman is a Willis McGahee injury away from starting now.

Josh Gordon led all Browns’ receivers in a sloppy football game in Cleveland. Good to see he didn’t goose egg in the bad weather. That’s promising. I still like him a lot.

If you are looking for a second half sleeper at tight end, Dustin Keller. Finally healthy and the Jets need options in the passing game. Keller has put together a few solid weeks of late. Hopefully the touchdowns start coming.
