Guess whose back? Back again? Tiger’s back… tell a friend. Okay, I hate the “Tiger is back” talk just as much as the next golf enthusiast, so lets never mention that again. Tiger has been back for some time now. It is always nice to see him on the top of leaderboards, where he belongs. With Tiger not in the field this week, it opens the door for anyone to walk through. The favorite is Rory but he hasn’t quite got his clubs clicking on all cylinders yet. His fourth round 65 at Doral tells me that he may have find his groove. At the same time, it would not be surprising at all if he missed the cut. That is just how things are going for Rory this year.

Group A: Geoff Ogilivy has four top 10 finishes at Redstone, but he hasn’t played in this tourney since 2010. Will the success continue after taking a couple years off? Finally Rory McIlroy gets to play a week without Tiger in the field. Unless your league only allows a few starts per golfer than Rory is a great pick this week.

Group B: Chad Campbell has only finished outside the Top 50 once in seven attempts here. Sure, they’re only top 50 finishes but it is Chad Campbell. Definitely a course he likes. Graham DeLaet has a nice season going, with top 25 finishes in four of his last five tournaments. This course sets up nicely for DeLaet because he likes the long courses. A breakout win may be in store for Graham. I just discovered that Josh Teater looks like a bald version of Sergio Garcia (above), and he is playing very well as of late. The momentum is building nicely for Teater.

Group C: Henrik Stenson is playing some of his best golf and finished top 25 both times he’s played in the Shell Houston Open. If you get in your time machine then you’ll find Scott Verplank, Stuart Appleby, Bob Estes, Jeff Maggert, Charley Hoffman, and Brian Davis all have played pretty well here. Now step back to present time and pick a stud like Lee Westwood who has finished top 30 each of the last four years.

Keepers

Expert Keeper Why the Pick? YTD
The 19th Hole Keegan Bradley He’s had a solid year already and has had past success at Shell Houston Open. He has been right there…and I don’t see anything to suggest he won’t be again. Avg Finish: 41st
Future of Fantasy Rory McIlroy A lot of people have piled on Rory with his early Nike struggles. I think he builds some momentum here heading into the Masters. Avg Finish: 36th
Jake Gaer Steve Stricker Since moving to the Tournament Course Stricks has four finishes of T-11 or better. Sticker is a putting genius and if not for Tiger, he’d have one win already this year. Avg Finish: 24th

Sleepers

Expert Sleeper Why the Pick? YTD
The 19th Hole Bryce Molder This will mark the second time Molder has snuck into my Sleeper pick and he’s even more dangerous now with 4 Top 25’s in seven events ( T12, T21, T30, T30 since my initial pick). If he keeps this up he won’t be a valid option as a ‘sleeper’, if not already. Avg Finish: 49th
Future of Fantasy Henrik Stenson Has 6 Top 25′s in his last 10 tournaments and has only finished outside the Top 40 once during that stretch. Avg Finish: 53rd
Jake Gaer Jordan Spieth Youngster has been playing great in his last two tournaments, and if he can get his putter right this week he has a good shot of finishing top-25 again, for the fourth tournament in a row. And he’s from Texas, more incentive for him to play well this week Avg Finish: 45th
