Daily Haze: Week 4 Waiver Wire
It’s panic button week in fantasy football.
For owners looking at an 0-3 start to the season, it’s important not to over-react this week. Is your team bad? Or has it just been bad luck for the most part?
I’m fortunate enough not to have an 0-3 team to start this season, though I did need a win in my main keeper league to keep that from happening. I’ve been in the bad luck category in that league so far. Have one of the top-six highest scoring teams, two bad beats to start the year.
Ironically I won this week with a low-scoring team. Go figure.
Don’t panic, just make adjustments. Explore some risky trade offers for high-ceiling guys. Consider starting some of your bench upside plays. Try to unload your under-performing players (Steven Ridley, David Wilson) for depth/high upside guys.
If you lose again next weekend, though … PANIC CITY.
Quarterbacks
Jake Locker, Titans
Nothing more than a bye week replacement *capable* of a big week.
Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins
Looking more and more roster-able for the long term.
Running Backs
Fred Jackson, Bills
If not owned.
Johnathan Franklin, Packers
Packers bye this weekend, Eddie Lacy back after the bye. RBBC.
Isaiah Pead, Rams
Not much to see from Rams’ running game, but could get more looks going forward.
Brandon Bolden, Patriots
I was a week too early on him. Should continue filling Shane Vereen void.
Andre Ellington, Cardinals
Deep league, long-term stash. Rashard Mendenhall not likely to hold up.
Khiry Robinson, Saints
Deep league stash/Speculative add. Mark Ingram could be traded soon.
Jason Snelling/Jacquizz Rodgers, Falcons
Short-term spot starters. Both had nice days in relief of Steven Jackson. I still like Snelling more.
Bilal Powell, Jets
Likely chasing the points on this one, but Chris Ivory got hurt again (shocker).
Wide Receivers
DeAndre Hopkins, Texans
Andre Johnson banged up, Hopkins next in line and playing well.
Nate Washington/Kendall Wright, Titans
I still prefer Wright in PPR leagues, but Washington the No. 1 WR here.
Brian Hartline, Dolphins
Mike Wallace having a nice effect on Hartline, who is a much-better No. 2 WR than No. 1 like last year.
Santonio Holmes/Stephen Hill, Jets
Not in love with either because there will be too much inconsistency.
