Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 6

When Cowboys QB Dak Prescott fell to the ground writhing in pain on Sunday, we all knew instinctively that it wasn’t good. Injuries can take a talented young player’s future away in the blink of an eye and Dak’s was a stark reminder of that.

Replacing a player of his calibur will be difficult for Jerry Jones and those who drafted him in the middle rounds for their fantasy teams. After all, he was leading all QB’s in fantasy points through 4 weeks and was looking like an MVP candidate for the first time in his career. There is no quick fix and it is likely you will struggle to replace the production he was giving week in and week out.

Despite what the other people in your league may be telling you, your season is not over and all is not lost. The only way to bounce back from this unfortunate setback is to have grit. Grit is the ability to never give up and to keep fighting every week in order to get the win. This is no time to let your guard down. In fact, a fighter’s spirit is the only thing that will keep you from last place.

You must play every game as if it were your last and leave nothing on the fantasy field. This is the only way that you can change the narrative and despite all odds sneak into that final playoff spot when no one thought you had a chance. If you can’t find the heart to do it for yourself….do it for Dak.

Week 6 Start ’em Mike Gesicki – Dolphins TE

After many experts expected him to breakout this season, Gesicki has been relatively quiet save for a big Week 2 performance where he caught 8 passes for 130 yards and a TD against the Bills. He is now firmly back on the fantasy radar after another solid game against a 49ers defense that allowed him to catch 5 passes for 91 yards in Week 5.

The chemistry with him and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is back where they left off last season and the third-year TE is primed for another big game against a Jets team that is in disarray following the recent release of RB Le’Veon Bell. I predict Gesicki will be peppered with targets in what will be his best game of the season.

Mike Gesicki Week 6 Projections: 14 targets, 11 receptions, 147 receiving yards, 2 receiving TD’s

Week 6 Sit ’em Hollywood Brown – Ravens WR

The eye test tells me that Brown is too small to ever become a star on the level of another undersized WR like Tyreek Hill, as he is often pushed off his routes against bigger more physical corners. This leads to inconsistent performances from the second year WR who was drafted by many fantasy owners as WR2 but has not delivered on that promise this season.

The NFL is a ‘what have you done for me lately’ league, and Brown is coming off his best game of the season in Week 4 where he caught 6 passes and hauled in his first TD catch of the year against the bumbling Bengals. He gets a much tougher matchup against physical lockdown corner Darius Slay of the Eagles who will likely prevent Hollywood from getting separation on his routes. I expect a big box office dud from Brown in Week 6.
